Weaving On A Loom for Beginners
Learn the ancient craft of hand weaving using contemporary yarns and looms. By the end of the course you will have completed at least one textile item, and maybe additional items like a cushion, bag, textile art or a small throw. In addition to traditional yarns such as wool and cotton, you will see items made from silk, linen, paper string, jelly yarn, stainless steel, copper, thread of gold and silver, elastic yarns and more. Yarn for the first project will be supplied by the tutor.

At the end of these sessions, students will:
*have completed a decorative or functional hand-woven item
*understand the basic structure of weaving
*be confident in selecting appropriate yarn for a project
*know how to prepare a loom for weaving
*warp and thread a loom in a simple plain weave or twill pattern
*be able to weave for their own enjoyment
